AFC Portchester’s reserves opened their Wyvern League Premier Division season with a 1-1 draw on Thursday night.
Grant Bentley, Jay Eames, Lloyd Kelly, Lincoln Pepall and Adam Thompson all made their Portchester debuts for the second string in the home game against AFC Stoneham.
The first half was a tight affair with both teams having some opportunities to score.
In the second half the home side didn't control the game in the way they would have liked but they took the lead on the hour mark through a cracking 25 yard shot which found the top corner from captain Matt Doel.
AFC Stoneham pressed from that moment on, and were rewarded with an equaliser from a low drive which beat keeper Max Alderson.
The game ebbed and flowed once it was level again, with both teams having chances without finding the winner.
AFC Portchester finished the game with ten men after a string of injuries.
