The Crest Finance Stadium already boasts some of the best facilities around, that’s according to many visitors when they visit the home of AFC Portchester.
But those facilities are about to get even better when the new boardroom/function room opens later next month.
The new building, located between the terrace and main stands on the east side of the ground, has been taking shape since the close season and it is now nearing completion.
Each day’s work reveals more about how the new building will look as its key features begin to be completed.
The centre piece will be the glass front to the new building (pictured above) - folding glazed doors running along almost the entire length of the unit facing the pitch will provide stunning views of the action on match days.
That feature, coupled with a large decking area overlooking the pitch close to the halfway line, will provide what will be one of the best boardroom facilities in non-league football, offering almost unrivalled direct views of the action.
The main area of the inside of the building will provide plenty of room for both matchday functions like entertaining visiting committee members and sit down sponsors lunches, to private hire functions like birthday parties, wedding receptions and other family celebrations and general functions.
The new building includes its own extensive licensed bar facility, ensuring that the stadium site will continue to boast three separate bar areas - how many non-league football grounds do you know that can boast such extensive entertainment facilities for spectators?
The building will also have its own toilets, including disabled facilities and access ramp.
The development will also bring enhanced media facilities for match days, including a new gantry for filming matches from and the installation of a new tannoy system to provide music and information on match days and during stadium events.
The completion of the new
boardroom/function room will complete the current planned developments on the east side of the stadium.
This area of the stadium already includes the main clubhouse and player’s bar, catering facilities, a fitness suite, treatment room and kit room, as well as the main seating and covered terracing areas of the stadium.
That doesn’t mean though the development of the stadium is completed as thoughts are already turning towards new facilities for supporters at the north end and western side of the ground.
Full details of the official opening of the new boardroom/function room will be released by the club shortly.
Once open the new facility will be available for hire. For details on this and the club’s other function rooms available call 01329 233833.
