In our ‘Getting to know you’ series we will be introducing the coaching staff from the club’s youth development set up.
These are the coaches who will be looking to develop youngsters coming up through the youth section, to prepare them for senior football and provide a pathway towards the first team squad.
Shaun Hale - coach for under-23s and assistant manager for under-18s
Shaun is a former Army physical training instructor and the 44-year-old now works as a company director of a wooden flooring company.
He is now in his fifth season of coaching youth football and was previously with Locks Heath under-18s.
His playing career saw him play in the Army and Combined Services rep sides and he also played for a number of non league clubs - Newport IOW, Havant and Waterlooville, Fleet Town, Welling, Salisbury City and Bashley.
Shaun said: “I’m looking forward to the forthcoming season working alongside Glen and Mark to help the development of the young talent at Portchester progress into men’s football.”
