AFC Portchester will be aiming to become cup crusaders again with victory at Wimborne this weekend.
The Royals have reached the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup on four occasions - an impressive record for a step five club in nine seasons completed in the world’s most famous cup competition.
Victory in Dorset on Saturday would put Portchester in the First Qualifying Round for the first time in three years, after enduring opening round exits over the last two seasons to lower ranked opposition.
The Royals were only three wins from the First Round Proper in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
A number of the current Portchester squad will be looking to extend their impressive goalscoring records for the club in the competition during Saturday’s game.
Striker Alex Baldacchino (pictured above) fired home five goals in the 2015 campaign, while captain Steve Ramsey also has five FA Cup goals for the club to his name.
Rob Evans’ goal against Sandhurst Town in the previous round was his second FA Cup goal for the club - his first was the winner against Dorchester Town in 2017.
Although currently injured, Joe Noakes has two FA Cup goals for the club, along with Ellis Martin and Craig Harding.
Saturday’s trip to Wimborne will be Portchester’s 28th FA Cup tie in the club’s tenth season in the competition.
Below is the club’s record in the competition since first competing in it in 2011. Goalscorer details are incomplete for the first three seasons.
