Bumper crowds are expected at both of the games being played at the Crest Finance Stadium in Portchester this weekend.
On Saturday the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup final between US Portsmouth and Hamworthy United will be taking place at the home of AFC Portchester, kick off 3pm.
And on Sunday, celebrities and former football professionals will be joining forces to play in a charity match in aid of Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital - kick off is at 2pm.
Due to the size of crowds expected at these events, we ask all spectators planning to attend the matches to read the following information:
If you live in Portchester please consider walking to the stadium from your home to help ease traffic and parking
If you are driving to the game please head straight to the car parks at Wicor Recreation Ground at the end of Cranleigh Road.
Ensure you only park in the marked bays and do not park across gates or dropped curbs or block access to driveways and side roads. Please be considerate to the local community when using the streets on the approach to the stadium.
Extra parking will be made available where possible - please ensure you follow the instructions given by stewards when they are operating in the car park areas.
Consider using public transport. South Western and Southern services call at Portchester Railway Station with regular trains from Portsmouth, Fareham, Cosham and Havant. The walk from the station to the stadium takes up to half an hour.
First Bus service number 3 between Fareham and Portsmouth stops in Cornaway Lane, which is a ten minute walk from the stadium. There are five services every hour in both directions at weekends and the number 3 service also connects with Portchester railway station.
The X4 service between Portsmouth and Southampton stops on Portchester Road, which is a 15 minute walk to the stadium.
Please also allow extra time for your journey and entry to the stadium site. As well as parking, all spectators must go through the track and trace protocols before entering the stadium and this may add additional time to making it through the turnstiles.
We look forward to welcoming spectators back to the Crest Finance Stadium this weekend and we hope this travel advice allows you to plan your journey before you set off to Portchester and makes your travelling as easy and smooth as possible.
