Brockenhurst FC have moved back up into 10th place after beating AFC Portchester 2-0 in Tuesday night's Sydenhams Wessex League fixture.
Both Brockenhurst and AFC Portchester went into this game with some key players absent. It was the home side who would go in front after Matt Vokes sent a well placed strike past Cameron Scott.
Portchester had several chances to get back on level terms, notably when stand-in Badgers goalkeeper Gary Morrison misjudged a long ball forwards. However, Matt Burt tracked back and cleared the ball away from the empty net.
Ultimately, Mark Barker would see the game off, racing onto Ryan Long's through ball and slotting the ball in, earning Brockenhurst all three points.
The result moved Brockenhurst up into 10th place and leaves AFC Portchester in 8th, with Lymington Town sandwiched between the two sides.
