This summer will see joint managers Ian Saunders and Mick Catlin embark on their first full season together. Following last years 6th placed finish, the club will be looking to improve on the placing. Cup success was a great way to finish the season and clearly a repeat of that would be fantastic too.
There has been a change within our Wyvern League set up. Last seasons Manager Fraser Quirke has stood down, due to his ongoing work commitments. The club would like to publicly thank Fraser for his time at the club and we hope to see him in and around the club when he is available.
To that end Marty Wallace will continue with the Wyvern reigns and he will be joined by our successful Youth Team Management pair of Darren Cook and Jimmy Chainey. This new management team are charged with the successful development of our younger players and we are very happy to announce this news.
The club are also delighted to announce that last seasons Hants Youth League Champions will step up to reform as our Wyvern League squad. A number of this squad were playing regular Wyvern and in some cases regular Wessex football last season, so this is an exciting decision by the football club.
Finally there are new appointments as we form our new Youth Team Management setup. Rich Peterson and Mark Dugan have been charged to spearhead the new youth set-up. Both Rich and Mark are fully aware of the clubs ethos and both have impeccable reputations within the club.
This is an exciting new start for our club and we are all looking forward to the challenges ahead.
There are open training sessions for the Youth (U17/18) team, being held each Thursday evening at the club.
If you are interested in joining our ambitious club, at any level, then feel free to contact the club to request further details.
