2-3

As the old saying goes – you wait ages for a game against PO Postcode opposition and then three or four come along all at once…

AFC Portchester will be looking to bounce back to winning ways and get their first victory at Step 4 level when they travel to Fareham Town this evening (Tuesday) – kick off 7.45pm.

Standing in the way of securing three points is Portchester’s neighbours and local rivals, who also started their Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division campaign with a defeat on the opening day of the season.

Fareham lost 2-0 at Raynes Park Vale on Saturday, conceding twice in the second half and they will be keen also to get some points on the board from the El Creekio derby at Cams Alders.

The Royals go into the match with a 19 game unbeaten run away from home for league games, which includes 17 wins. Portchester’s last defeat on the road came in April 2024 at AFC Stoneham.

Last time out at Cams Alders Portchester were 3-0 winners in what was the final game of the regular 2024-25 season. Their goals were scored by Josh Clack, Spencer Spurway and Lee Wort.

Portchester are unbeaten in their last four league visits to Fareham – who last recorded an El Creekio league win at home in September 2020 when they won 2-1.

While Fareham has been a happy hunting ground for the Royals in recent years this is a local derby and as Saturday’s game proved, anything can happen when PO Postcode based teams get together.
