AFC Portchester’s plans for pre-season are building quickly, with friendly fixtures now announced.

 

The Royals currently have a programme of six games as part of the preparations for their first ever season at Step 4 of the non-league pyramid system.

 

Manager Gav Spurway’s squad will return to training at the beginning of July and the first chance for supporters to get a glimpse of the 2025-26 squad in action will be on Saturday, July 5.

 

The Royals make the short trip to Velocity Wessex League Division 1 side Fleetlands.

 

Step 3 side Sholing will be the opposition on the following Saturday, July 12, when The Pitching In Southern League Premier South Division side host Portchester.

 

On Tuesday, July 15, the Royals head to Velocity Wessex League Premier Division side Millbrook. We then head north on Saturday, July 19, to visit another Wessex Premier Division team in the form of Petersfield Town.

 

The first midweek action of pre-season comes on Tuesday, July 22, when the Royals head to West Sussex to take on Pagham, who play in the Southern Combination League’s Premier Division.

 

The pre-season programme of friendlies then closes with two games at The OnSite Group Stadium.

 

On Saturday, July 26, AFC Portchester will take on Velocity Wessex League Premier Division side Hamble Club for the Velocity Wessex League Charity Cup.

 

The current final friendly scheduled is on Tuesday, July 29, when The Pitching In Southern League Division 1 South side Bashley will be the visitors.

 

More fixtures could yet be added to the pre-season programme. Venue details and kick-off times for the matches will be confirmed closer to when they are scheduled.
