🔶 First Team 2–3 Bournemouth Sports Ladies

In what has become a regular and competitive pre-season fixture, the First Team travelled to face Bournemouth Sports, a strong Tier 4 side. The match got off to a rocky start, with the team conceding within the first 20 seconds. However, they quickly regrouped and settled into the game, matching their opponents in possession and chances.

A significant moment in the first half came with a non-contact injury to Mia Adaway, who had worked hard to return to full fitness ahead of the season. Everyone at the club sends best wishes for a speedy recovery.

After trailing 1–0 at the break, the second half saw both sides continue to battle for control. Bournemouth extended their lead from a corner, but the introduction of Millie Bradbury turned the tide. Bradbury struck twice in quick succession, capitalising on pressure in the final third to bring the game level at 2–2.

Unfortunately, another lapse at a corner allowed Bournemouth to retake the lead, and despite a spirited finish, the ladies couldn’t find a third. A narrow 3–2 defeat, but a valuable test against strong opposition.

🔶 Reserves 1–0 Bournemouth Sports Reserves

The Reserves came away with a well-earned 1–0 win, thanks to a composed penalty from Stacy Niven and a standout performance from Roxy Roberts in goal. Roxy, who has stepped into the Reserves due to work commitments, made several key saves to preserve the clean sheet.

It was a disciplined and confident display, with the team showing strong organisation and composure throughout.

🔶 Development Squad 1–4 AFC Varsity Reserves

The Development Squad faced a challenging afternoon against AFC Varsity Reserves, with a string of injuries disrupting the flow and forcing multiple changes throughout the match. Despite the setbacks, the team showed great character and resilience.

Ruby Harling found the net with a well-taken goal, and there was a proud moment for Rosie Cleeve, who made her senior debut after progressing through the U16s. Rosie impressed with her composure and work rate, earning herself Player of the Match honours.

Although the 4–1 defeat was a tough result, the game provided valuable minutes for the squad and marked another important step in the development journey for several young players.
