Tomorrow is a huge day for AFC Portchester Ladies as we welcome Worthing Women to the OnSite Group Stadium for the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round Proper. Kick-off is at 1:00 PM, Sunday 30th November, and entry is just £5 for adults. Let’s pack the stadium and create an atmosphere that drives us forward to make history!
Our manager Mark Dugan summed it up perfectly:
“Second time lucky hopefully tomorrow as we try to make history at the club by reaching the FA Cup Third Round Proper. To do so we’ll need to be at our very best to beat our opposition Worthing Town, a National League side coming here expecting to advance! So it should be some game.”
And what’s at stake? If we win, we’ll host WSL2 giants Ipswich Town on Sunday 14th December – a dream tie that would see us share the pitch with professionals and live out the magic of this great competition.
We’ve also strengthened the squad with a fantastic new signing: Kim Fuller. Mark said:
“Delighted to be able to get Kim at the club. We spoke preseason over a coffee but couldn’t get it over the line then. However, as ever in football, things change and we’ve got the signing done. Kim will no doubt add huge experience to the squad and goes straight in with so many fixtures and competitions we happily still find ourselves in.”
Kim joins us from Bognor and previously starred at Moneyfields, where she holds the record for most appearances and top scorer in the club’s history. Her experience could be vital in tomorrow’s cup tie.
Kim shared her excitement:
“I am really pleased to be joining AFC Portchester. The girls and staff have all been so lovely and welcoming and I’m buzzing to get going on Sunday and play any part I can to help the team.”
