AFC Portchester go in search of what would be only their second away league win of the season with their trip to Hanworth Villa.

The Royals go into today’s (Saturday) trip to the suburbs of London on a run of one defeat in six league games – the sole defeat in this recent run of improving form came at Littlehampton Town last weekend.

However, you have to go back to a summer’s night back in August for Portchester’s only Step 4 away league win to date – a 3-2 victory at Fareham Town on August 12.

Goals on the road haven’t been an issue in recent weeks as Gav Spurway’s side netted four times at Westfield and then twice more at Littlehampton.

But conceding seven times meant the Royals only returned home with a point from those games – and they had to also settle for a point from Tuesday night’s league game at home to Fareham Town.

They face a Hanworth side this afternoon who are eight points and ten places better off than them in the South Central table – their hosts are currently in fourth place.

They have been held to draws in their last two league games by Southall and South Park Reigate.

And the Royals face the challenge of trying to find goals against the side with the second best goals conceded record in the division – Hanworth have let in just 12 goals in 16 league games to date.
